Forecourt Phase 2 underway; the migration of five major operating units to the new platform :: 

In February 2008, Alchemy, delivered a new, global Portal (in SharePoint 2007) for Kuwait Petroleum International, one of the largest oil companies in Europe. With this second phase, we are migrating the five english-speaking Operating Units of Q8 to the new platform, including Q8 Aviation, Q8 Oils and the International Diesel Service. This will turn what was a Corporate Intranet into a true Company-wide resource.

Kuwait Petroleum International was established 1983, as the international arm of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC). Kuwait boasts the world's third largest oil reserves - behind Saudi Arabia and Iraq - and KPC is one of the world’s top 10 oil companies. Under its distinctive “Q8 sails” logo, KPI refines and markets fuel, lubricants and other petroleum derivatives to a diverse customer base across Europe. The company has a significant forecourt presence in Kuwait, Italy, Denmark, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands.

Yousef Al-Yateem, VP - Chief Financial Officer KPI, leads the Corporate Intranet Project Team. He explains the exciting plans for Phase 2 and how it builds towards the original vision; “I am delighted to announce that we have started the second phase of the Forecourt Programme. In this phase, we plan to build on the success of the Corporate forecourt intranet site, which has been well‐liked and well‐used by people across KPI. The long term vision remains "All the information & tools we need to do our job brought together in one place – readily accessible and easy to use – wherever and whenever we need them." ”

In this phase, we are migrating the five english-speaking Operating Units to ForeCourt and Collabor8, including Q8 Aviation, Q8 Oils, the KPI Head Office, the North-West Europe operations (KPNWE) and the International Diesel Service (IDS). We are also re-launching the Q8 Corporate Internet site (Q8.com). The project will include an exciting new "unified design" - developed in partnership with the Q8 Marketing Representatives from across Europe - and an upgrade to the underlying infrastructure.
